Orpha L. Nelan, 82, of East Peoria, passed away on Friday, August 20, 2021, at Richard L. Owens Hospice Home in Peoria. She was born on January 18, 1939, to George and Matilda (Harms) Silber in Buffalo Center, IA. She married William “Bill” Nelan on October 20, 1957, in East Peoria; he preceded her in death on September 11, 2018. She is survived by her son Mark (Bridget) Nelan of Germantown Hills; two daughters, Susan (Bennett) Hayes of Brimfield and Natalie (Jason Krey) Nelan of Peoria; her sister, Jan (Chuck) Munter of Green Valley, AZ; and four grandsons, Rob, Lee (Ashley), Joe, and Jake Nelan. She was preceded in death by her brother, Don Silber. Orpha graduated from EPCHS Class of 1957 and continued many of the friendships she made throughout her life. Orpha was an avid knitter, quilter and seamstress and shared her beautiful creations with many. She will be missed. Private burial will be at Fondulac Cemetery.
