Patricia "Pat" (Hunt) Wahrenburg

Patricia “Pat” (Hunt) Wahrenburg, 83, passed away on Sunday, March 6, 2022, at OSF Richard L. Owens Hospice Home in Peoria. She was born in Peoria on February 16, 1939, to Robert and Mary (Klein) Hunt. She married Herbert Wahrenburg on August 5, 1967, at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Washington; he survives. She is also survived by her daughter, Annette (Greg) Berry; her son, David Wahrenburg; her brother, Robert Hunt; and two grandchildren, Brooklynn and Brandon Berry, all of East Peoria. She was preceded in death by her parents. Pat graduated from WCHS Class of 1957. As a homemaker, she dedicated her life to taking care of her family and was very involved in the community. She was an active member of St. Monica’s Catholic Church and the Ladies Guild. She served as a leader and board member of the Girl Scouts and Brownies, and volunteered with the Methodist Service League, operating the hospital flower shop. Pat enjoyed sewing and painting crafts that she sold at local craft shows, and she loved collecting and restoring antique dolls. Visitation will be from 4-6 pm on Wednesday, March 9, 2022, at Gary Deiters Funeral Home & Cremation Services in East Peoria, with the rosary at 5:45 pm. There will be a Funeral Mass at 9:30 am on Thursday, March 10, 2022, at St. Monica’s Catholic Church in East Peoria, with an additional half-hour of visitation prior to the service at 9:00 am. Entombment will follow at Resurrection Mausoleum in Peoria. Memorials may be made to Building Hope for Kids Uganda or St. Monica’s Catholic Church.
