Norman R. Wilcox

Norman R. Wilcox, 83, of Pekin, formerly of Edwards, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family, on Sunday, December 14, 2025, at Pekin Manor after a courageous battle with Parkinson’s Disease. He was born in Mt. Carmel on February 4, 1942, to Walter and Alma (Reisinger) Wilcox. On October 25, 2003, he married Ann Holland in Peoria; she survives. He is also survived by his children, Doug (Shannon) Wilcox of Peoria; Brian (Rosa) Breneman of Traverse City, MI; Jeff (Lisa) Breneman of Sturgis, MI; Sarah (Mark) Greer of Mackinaw; Melissa (Ed) Maubach of Peoria; Rachel (Chuck) Huff of Mackinaw; and Lisa (Fiancé Scott Shockley) Irvin of Tucson, AZ; his sister, Nancy (Dave) Mills of Shelbyville; and brother, Ron (Susan) Wilcox of Boone, NC; along with many nieces and nephews. He was also a proud grandpa to 13 grandchildren and one great grandchild, cherishing the time he spent with them and enthusiastically cheering them on at their sporting events. Norman attended Murray State University before transferring to the University of Kentucky, where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Animal Science and Agriculture. He then devoted 40 years of service to Hubbard Feeds, retiring as the District Manager in Sales. Following his retirement, Norman remained active through his volunteer work at Wildlife Prairie Park and Donovan Golf Course, as well as by driving for Finish Line Ford. He was also affiliated with the Illinois Pork Producers and dedicated time to volunteering at the Illinois State Fair, grilling their famous pork chop sandwiches. Norman was known for sharing this recipe at many family events, including his daughter’s wedding shower. Norman was a devoted Illini fan and enjoyed golf. He and Ann loved to travel and spent many winters in Green Valley, AZ. A Funeral Service is scheduled for 3:00 p.m. on Friday, December 19, 2025, at Gary Deiters Funeral Home & Cremation Services in East Peoria, with visitation at the funeral home from 1:00 p.m. until the time of service. Pastor Mike DeTrumpe will officiate. Private burial will be at Swan Lake Memory Gardens in Peoria. Memorial contributions may be made to Christ Alive Community Church in Kickapoo, where Norman was a devoted member, or The Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research.
